Sarah Ganger

Facilitator - UK, Europe

Sarah Ganger is a trainer, writer, wife, mom, sister, daughter and friend. Sarah has been married to her husband Tim since 2004. Their family grew by four children in less than four years by birth and by adoption, and one of Sarah’s greatest joys is being a mother to her children. Sarah and Tim helped to plant a church in the suburbs of Houston, Texas and served there for nine years before they were sent out to serve as missionaries in the UK. Sarah has a degree from Houston Baptist University in Biology and Christianity and worked as a secondary school science teacher and as a supply teacher at all levels. In 2018, one of Sarah and Tim’s children was diagnosed with a disability, ushering them into the world of additional needs parenting. Sarah is a trainer for The Stoplight Approach and is passionate to see people to develop an understanding of brain science that can lead to an increased understanding of themselves and their relationships and an increased experience of emotional well-being in their lives.

 

Mugisha Nuruh

Facilitator - Uganda

Mugisha Nuruh has a bachelor’s degree in Education and post-graduate diploma in Management. Her 25-year teaching career includes ten years in administration. Currently, Nuruh is a director at the Mwangaza Initiative which empowers communities in harmonious living, psychosocial competency, mental health, and improving household livelihoods using The Stoplight Approach. Nuruh is a Stoplight international representative in Uganda and a regular presenter for Stoplight trainings. She is a mother of three and lives in Kampala, Uganda.


Imekedet Cathie Kitagenda

Facilitator - Uganda

Catherine Imekedet has taught in Ugandan high schools for more than 20 years. She holds a B.A. degree in Social Sciences and a Post-Graduate diploma in Education. She is a director at the Mwangaza Initiative which conducts training in hard and soft skills. Catherince believes that The Stoplight Approach goes a long way in correcting the inadequacies of the traditional, fear-based approach to parenting and teaching. She is married to Godfrey and has four children.

 

Melissa Strike

Facilitator - Canada

Melissa Strike lives in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Melissa has been part of the Stoplight team for 5 years, currently serving as an online facilitator as well as the regional trainer for Alberta and Manitoba. She is the proud mom of 7 amazing kids and considers her home to be a Stoplight home . She is very excited to teach and help people create a Stoplight home of their own .

 

Kathleen McMillan

Facilitator - Canada

Kathleen McMillan lives in Langley, B.C., Canada where she is the director of Brave Spaces Early Learning Commons at SouthRidge Fellowship Baptist Church. She studied ECE at Northwest Baptist Theological College and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from Briercrest College. She has been working in the ECE field for 32 years. Kathleen and her team started the Early Learning Commons at SouthRidge in 2013. Teacher by day, writer by night, Kathleen has been teaching and telling artful stories for three decades. She has written 4 children’s books and is a speaker at schools and ECE conferences. Kathleen teaches in the ECE program at Delta Continuing Education and is a facilitator for The Stoplight Approach, teaching brain science and the bible using a common, accessible language for parents, people with diverse abilities and those in cross-cultural contexts. Kathleen is committed to living curiously and exploring innovative educational theories.

 

Dr. Deborah DeFrieze

Facilitator - USA

Deborah DeFrieze has a Doctorate of Education, massage license and is a licensed clinical social worker. She works not only with The Stoplight Approach but also a nonprofit called Celebrate Life Ya ‘Un Mission in Tennessee. She retired after 30 years in public schools and now does private counseling along with Stoplight presentations for children and adults.
