The Stoplight Approach focuses primarily on child protection and teaching children self-awareness with regard to how their emotions cause them to react in any given circumstance. In this way, they can become better equipped to make good choices for themselves, even in stressful situations.

Although this complimentary book can be used in home and faith-based organizations without reference to Book 1 in the curriculum series, it is primarily designed to be taught in conjunction with that book by setting out ten complementary Bible lessons that follow the same chapters and teach children that Jesus is our safe place, that he loves, cares for, and values all children - no matter their behaviour, no matter how they think about themselves, and no matter what others say about them. Book 2 helps children build a personal relationship with Jesus and in doing so, create resilience.
